Job summary

GTS Group is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to install, service and maintain vehicle CCTV systems and auto electrical equipment across Ireland. The role is field-based, predominantly visiting customer sites with occasional night work.

You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance, and support vehicle technology installations while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring safety and SLA compliance. A driving licence and relevant electrical qualification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with vehicle CCTV systems, auto electrical or electronic systems.
• Strong electrical and technical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in a Field Service Engineer or mobile engineering role.
• Knowledge of DVRs and CCTV components advantageous.

Senior Field Service Engineer – Vehicle CCTV / Auto Electrical

Location: Republic of Ireland – Field Based

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 40 hours per week – predominantly field based with some night work

GTS Group are recruiting for an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer / Auto Electrician / Vehicle CCTV Engineer to join a leading independent security and vehicle technology specialist operating across Ireland and the UK.

Our client specialises in the design, installation and support of advanced CCTV, security and vehicle technology systems across the transport, infrastructure, public space and high-security sectors.

This is a field-based position supporting customers throughout the Republic of Ireland, primarily within the bus, coach and rail industries.​

You’ll be responsible for the installation, servicing, planned maintenance and fault-finding of vehicle CCTV systems, driver aid technology and associated electrical/electronic equipment, while also providing technical guidance and support to more junior engineers.

The Role

As a Senior Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Installation, service and maintenance of vehicle CCTV systems
• Diagnosing and rectifying CCTV, electrical and electronic faults
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Supporting vehicle technology installations across bus, coach and rail fleets
• Fault-finding and technical support at customer sites
• Providing training, guidance and mentoring to junior and trainee engineers
• Supporting and training other Field Service Engineers
• Working closely with customers, garage engineers and technical teams
• Completing digital/PDA service reports following site visits
• Managing your own equipment and stock
• Ensuring work is completed in line with customer SLAs and Health & Safety requirements
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and workmanship

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in speaking with engineers from vehicle electrical, CCTV, electronics or transport technology backgrounds.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience with CCTV, auto electrical or electronic systems
• Strong electrical and technical fault-finding skills
• Experience working in a Field Service Engineer or mobile engineering position
• Knowledge of DVRs and CCTV components would be advantageous
• Experience within the bus, coach, rail or wider commercial vehicle industry would be beneficial
• Good basic IT skills
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• An electrical qualification such as NVQ, BTEC or apprenticeship would be advantageous but is not essential
• A full driving licence
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment

Full product and system training will be provided.

Location & Working Hours

This is a field-based role covering the Republic of Ireland, travelling to customer sites throughout the region.

There may occasionally be travel outside your normal region and some overnight stays. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, predominantly working days, although some night work may be required depending on customer requirements.
