Job summary

KeyHire Solutions seeks an experienced Estimator with Civils and/or Mechanical background to join our growing team. This role offers remote work within Ireland on major construction and engineering projects, with a focus on accurate cost estimation, tender preparation and value engineering.

You will review drawings and tender docs, develop detailed take-offs, evaluate subcontractor quotes, and maintain records while collaborating with remote teams to meet deadlines and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in construction or engineering.
• Civils and/or Mechanical estimating background.
• Experience on projects in Ireland or the UK.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with remote teams.
• Proficiency with estimating software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and tenders for construction and engineering projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
• Prepare detailed take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop detailed estimates in line with project requirements and commercial objectives.
• Identify potential risks, exclusions, opportunities and cost-saving measures.
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers and internal project teams.
• Assist with tender submissions and commercial presentations.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to the development of estimating procedures, cost databases and benchmarks.
• Ensure estimates are completed within agreed deadlines and to a high standard.

Our client is seeking experienced Estimators with a Civils and/or Mechanical background to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced construction professionals to work remotely within Ireland on a range of major projects.

Candidates with previous Data Centre experience are particularly desirable, although strong estimating experience within other major construction or engineering sectors will also be considered.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction or engineering sector.
• Civils and/or Mechanical estimating background.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
• Strong IT and estimating software skills.
