Job summary

Irish M&E Contractor in Dublin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to take full ownership of tenders from enquiry through to final submission, working with the Estimating Manager and pre-construction team on major building services projects.

You will lead complex bids, mentor junior estimators, and ensure tenders align with programme, quality, and commercial objectives, with exposure to data centre and pharmaceutical sectors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within a contractor environment.
• Strong track record delivering tenders from enquiry through to award.
• Excellent knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical pipework systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and produce accurate take-offs and BOQs.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates and BOQs for large-scale projects.
• Manage and complete full quantity take-offs with a high level of accuracy.
• Source and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations, ensuring full scope coverage.
• Identify risks, gaps, and value engineering opportunities within tenders.
• Present completed estimates to senior leadership and contribute to bid strategy.
• Coordinate with electrical estimators and wider pre-construction teams.
• Mentor and support junior estimators within the department.
• Ensure all tender submissions meet strict deadlines and quality standards.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

The Company

This Irish M&E contractor delivers mechanical and electrical building services across major construction projects in Dublin and throughout Ireland, with experience across commercial, data centre, pharmaceutical and other technically demanding sectors.

The business has developed a strong mechanical division and continues to secure complex, high-value projects. Based in Dublin, Co Dublin, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator who can take ownership of mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.

The Role – Senior Mechanical Estimator

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator, you will take full ownership of mechanical tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. Working closely with the Estimating Manager and pre-construction team, you will play a critical role in securing major projects by delivering accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates.

This is a senior-level position with responsibility for managing complex bids, mentoring junior estimators, and contributing to overall estimating strategy, ensuring all tenders are aligned with programme, quality, and commercial objectives.
