Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Consultant to join our Environment Team in Dublin or Galway. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality EIARs and advise clients, regulators, and stakeholders throughout project delivery.

You will drive complex EIARs, manage budgets and timelines, and mentor staff while contributing to winning proposals and strategic pursuits across infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant science/environmental engineering subject.
• Master’s qualification preferred, but not essential.
• Experience in EIAR preparation and coordination for major infrastructure projects.
• Chartered membership of a relevant body desirable.
• Proven track record delivering EIARs for road, rail, energy, water projects.
• Strong understanding of EU and national environmental legislation.
• Excellent technical report writing and project management skills.
• Experience mentoring environmental consultants.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex EIARs and environmental assessment programmes within timeframes.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with clients, regulators and stakeholders.
• Manage large EIARs and non-statutory environmental reports.
• Mentor and guide staff within the Environmental Team.
• Oversee project governance, finances, and programme delivery.
• Build trusted client relationships and support business development.
