Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant for the Energy Sector to join our Environment Team in Galway or Dublin. The role focuses on energy infrastructure and energy-transition projects across Ireland, including renewables, grid, storage, and interconnections.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver EIARs, mentor staff, engage stakeholders, and shape project strategy from early concepts to consent, contributing to a sustainable energy future.

Qualifications

• Technically credible and confident in leading complex EIAR and consenting workstreams.
• Collaborative, able to work with planners, engineers, environmental specialists, clients, regulators and subconsultants.
• Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication, able to explain complex environmental issues to non-specialists.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate large teams and lead environmental project teams in the Energy Sector to successful delivery outcomes.
• Proactively identify, manage and mitigate risks to project delivery.
• Ensure governance and compliance with environmental legislation and policies.
• Engage stakeholders across development consent processes.
• Promote innovation to maximise workstream efficiencies and develop solutions.
