Job summary

STRIVE Search client, a growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor, seeks a Project Manager to deliver diverse civil projects from mobilisation through to completion. The role covers Meath and North Dublin with responsibility for safety, schedule and budget, leading site teams and coordinating with clients and consultants.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management within civil engineering, a related degree and proven leadership and communication skills to drive project

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in Project Management within civil engineering/construction.
  • Strong experience in civil engineering, groundworks, demolition, enabling works or infrastructure.
  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction programmes, project delivery and commercial management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and lead site-based teams.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering, groundworks, demolition and enabling works projects.
  • Lead and coordinate Site Managers, Site Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors and specialist teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Manage project programmes, short-term planning and progress, identifying and resolving delays or issues.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
  • Review drawings, specifications and construction methodologies to ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage project costs, variations, procurement and commercial performance in conjunction with the commercial team.
  • Coordinate site activities including excavation, drainage, concrete works, demolition, groundworks and associated civil engineering works.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Lead project and site meetings, providing regular progress updates to clients and senior management.
  • Identify project risks and implement appropriate measures to minimise their impact on programme, cost and quality.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring works are completed to the required standards and programme.
  • Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement across project teams.

Background

Our client is a growing specialist contractor delivering projects across civil engineering, groundworks, demolition, enabling works and infrastructure throughout Ireland. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to their team to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion.
