Job summary

Medtronic Galway, Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Patient Care Systems (PCS) division to help build software for implantable cardiac devices and connected care solutions.

You will contribute across the SDLC, work with cross-functional teams, and leverage embedded, cloud-based technologies to deliver robust, scalable systems that improve patient outcomes.

This role requires 4+ years in embedded software, C/C++, RTOS, and experience with CI/CD and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on embedded software design, development, debugging, and testing.
• Proficiency in C programming for multi-threaded embedded software.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded debugging tools such as JTAG.
• Collaborative mindset and proven ownership of shipped features.
• Interest in connecting health data and improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, debug and document integrated software for medical devices, ensuring business needs are met and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to design and architecture for secure, scalable software and communicate implications to technology leadership.
• Develop reusable patterns and drive team velocity.
• Own software features and drive their development through the SDLC.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure quality, security, and maintainability.
