Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking an Embedded Senior Software Engineer - Storage to join our Core Peripherals Storage team in Cork, Ireland. You will design and develop storage drivers, contribute to UEFI, Windows HLOS, Linux user space, and filesystem work for next-generation SoCs.

You will work across the storage stack, optimize performance and power, debug kernel and user-space issues, build image creation and validation tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Linux

Qualifications

4+ years’ experience in embedded software development.
Expertise in Linux kernel, device drivers, and kernel internals.
Experience with filesystems (e.g. EXT4, F2FS, EROFS) is desirable.
Strong debugging skills (kernel and user space; JTAG/ICE preferred).
Solid understanding of RTOS and embedded systems concepts.
Familiarity with ARM architecture is advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skill.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain storage drivers and proprietary filesystem modules.
Work on Linux kernel components (block drivers, filesystems, memory subsystems).
Optimize storage and memory performance for efficiency and power.
Debug and resolve kernel-level issues with customers and partners.
Build tools for image creation, flash provisioning, and validation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the Linux kernel community.
Support expansion into automotive, embedded, and consumer markets.
