Job summary

Acre Security in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join the Engineering team in a hybrid role. You will design and implement embedded firmware for next-generation security products, collaborating with hardware, software, and QA teams to deliver high-performance systems.

The role requires strong proficiency in C/C++, ARM Cortex-based development, RTOS experience, and a passion for driving innovations in embedded architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience developing embedded firmware and microprocessor/microcontroller-based solutions.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded applications.
• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG).
• Experience with ARM Cortex-based MCUs/MPUs.
• Familiarity with RTOS and bare-metal embedded software.
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded firmware for microprocessor/microcontroller applications.
• Develop and optimise RTOS and bare-metal software.
• Collaborate with hardware and QA to integrate embedded solutions into products.
• Write, maintain, and optimise well-documented C/C++ code.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and validation for robustness and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
