Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment's client, a well-established electrical contracting company in Tralee, seeks an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and financial aspects of projects from tender to completion.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers to prepare budgets, cost plans and forecasts, measure and price electrical works, and prepare tender submissions.

Qualifications

• Relevant Quantity Surveying or related qualification.
• 3+ years of QS or commercial experience in electrical contracting or M&E.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong Excel and IT skills.
• Full clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of electrical projects.
• Prepare and review project budgets, cost plans and forecasts.
• Measure and price electrical works from drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Prepare tender submissions and review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Monitor project costs, expenditure and profitability.
• Manage variations, additional works and commercial claims.
• Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
• Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Assist with procurement and supplier negotiations.
• Maintain accurate cost/value reports and commercial records.
• Prepare and negotiate final accounts.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout projects.
• Work closely with the project and site teams to ensure projects remain commercially controlled.

Our client, a well-established electrical contracting company, is looking for an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of electrical projects from tender through to completion, working closely with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. This is a permanent, full-time position in Tralee.

Requirements

• A relevant Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or related qualification
• 3+ years Quantity Surveying or commercial experience within electrical contracting or M&E construction.
• Good understanding of electrical construction projects and associated costs.
• Experience with tendering, estimating, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong Excel and general IT skills.
• Full clean driving license

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.
