Job summary

Veolia Ireland is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to lead electrical cost estimation and commercial planning on Design & Build projects across Water, Waste and Energy units. You will support bids from inception through tender submission and transition awarded contracts to the Delivery team.

The role requires strong commercial acumen, collaboration across Proposals and Contracts, and a track record in large electrical projects.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in either Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating and managing electrical projects, with proven expertise in MCC panels, instrumentation systems, electrical installations, Building Services, and SCADA systems
• Strong knowledge of contract law and demonstrated experience with infrastructure contracts across Industrial, Municipal, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and similar sectors
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients across multiple sectors
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Project); experience with construction estimating software desirable
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent bids, prioritise effectively, and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining high attention to detail
• Full, clean driving licence and eligible to work in Ireland

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical cost estimation for Design & Build bids across Water, Waste & Energy projects
• Develop detailed cost estimates, BOQs, schedule of rates and commercial assessments
• Negotiate with electrical subcontractors and suppliers to secure quotes and validate costs
• Prepare comprehensive commercial documentation and risk assessments for tender submissions
• Collaborate with project team to ensure estimates reflect technical complexity
• Manage multiple bids and meet proposal deadlines
• Provide ongoing commercial and quantity surveying support during project delivery
