Job summary

Veolia in Kilkenny/Dublin is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to lead electrical cost estimation and commercial planning during bids. The role supports bids from inception to tender and transitions projects to Contracts after award.

The candidate will manage multiple bids across Water, Waste & Energy units, with MCC, SCADA, and building services expertise, while ensuring compliance and value delivery. Hybrid working arrangements to be discussed.

Qualifications

• 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience estimating and managing electrical projects.
• Experience with MCC panels, instrumentation, electrical installations, Building Services and SCADA systems.
• Strong knowledge of contract law across Industrial, Municipal, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, F&B, and similar sectors.
• Excellent negotiation and communication with subcontractors, suppliers and clients across sectors.
• Strong Excel skills; MS Office Suite; experience with estimating software desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent bids and meet deadlines.
• Full, clean driving licence and eligible to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical cost estimation for Design & Build bids across Water, Waste & Energy sectors.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, BOQs, schedule of rates and commercial assessments.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure quotes and ensure feasibility.
• Prepare commercial documentation and risk assessments for tender submissions.
• Collaborate with project teams to reflect technical complexity in bid strategy.
• Manage multiple bids and prioritise to meet proposal deadlines.
• Support Proposals with quantity surveying matters as required.
• Assist with handover to Contracts team after award and provide delivery support.
