Job summary

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with HV project expertise to join our Transmission & Distribution team in the Republic of Ireland. The role centers on large-scale grid infrastructure, HV substations, and renewable connections to meet targets.

You will contribute design input, perform Owners’ Engineer duties on HV substations and cables, and work across Ireland/UK on projects with flexibility for hybrid or partial-time patterns.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience of working on HV projects.
• Experience of working with major utilities or developers.
• Experience as a designer or as project engineer.
• Experience of developing specifications for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
• Fluency in English.
• Experience in technical report writing.
• Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle as site visits may be required.

Responsibilities

• Primary plant layouts for HV substations.
• Equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment.
• Providing engineering design input to major infrastructure projects.
• Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects.
• Providing HV design input to renewable energy projects e.g., Battery storage, Solar, Hydro and Wind generation.
• Provide professional services to clients in Ireland/UK and overseas.
