Zircoe Recruitment is partnering with a leading engineering contractor to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer based in Dublin or the Midlands. The role centers on technical leadership across M&E projects, with strong HV and substation experience.

You will coordinate with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams, review drawings and designs, manage HV installations, testing and commissioning, and ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance across Ireland.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Significant experience as Electrical Engineer within the M&E / construction sector.
• Strong High Voltage (HV) experience.
• Experience with HV/MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems and electrical distribution.
• Experience in electrical testing, commissioning and energisation.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation standards and practices.
• Health & Safety requirements within construction.
• Experience managing electrical works on large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Ireland.
• Experience working on Solar PV / Solar Farm projects.
• Experience working on Wind Farm projects.
• Renewable energy and grid connection experience.
• Experience with HV grid connections.
• Knowledge of SCADA, protection and control systems.
• Experience with utility or renewable-energy substations.
• HV Authorisation / switching experience.
• Chartered Engineer status or progression towards Chartered status.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage electrical engineering activities across M&E projects.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, supervisors and site teams.
• Manage HV electrical installation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate and oversee substation installation and commissioning.
• Review drawings, specifications, submissions and designs.
• Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, civil, structural and other disciplines.
• Identify technical issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Manage electrical contractors and subcontractors.
• Ensure installations meet project specs and Irish standards and safety.
• Review ITPs and method statements.
• Monitor progress, quality and technical compliance.
• Support planning, procurement and construction activities.
• Manage snagging, handover and close-out.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and energisation.
• Oversee HV/MV installation and commissioning.
• Support grid connection and energisation.
• Ensure documentation is complete and maintained.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage relationships with electrical contractors.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Support Energy, Power & Renewables projects across Ireland.
• Travel regularly to EP&R project sites.
• Contribute to solar PV, wind and utility infrastructure projects where applicable.
