Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Cork with 6–8 years’ experience to lead electrical building services projects from concept to handover. You will design power, lighting, life safety and ICT/ELV systems, perform load calculations, model selections and produce tender-ready drawings.

The role offers hybrid working across Cork/Limerick/Galway, with opportunities for mentoring, career progression and chartership support.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical or building services engineering (Level 8/9).
• 6–8 years’ post-graduate experience in electrical building services design.
• Chartered Engineer status or pursuing chartership is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through construction and handover.
• Design and specify electrical services systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, ICT/ELV and energy efficient tech.
• Carry out electrical load calculations, system modelling and equipment selection.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and tender packages.

Senior Electrical Engineer with 6–8 years’ experience required to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy based in Cork, with offices across Ireland and the UK. Role:

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to construction and handover.
• Design and specify electrical services systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety systems, ICT/ELV and energy efficient technologies.
• Carry out electrical load calculations, system modelling and equipment selection.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications and tender packages.

Requirements:

• Level 8 or Level 9 degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 6–8 years’ post-graduate experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Building Services Design Software such as Amtech, Dialux, Relux or Lighting Reality.
