Job summary

M&E Engineering Consultancy in Dublin seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical building services across multiple projects from concept through construction and handover.

You will manage packages, coordinate with mechanical, architectural and structural teams, and interface directly with clients and contractors to deliver compliant, well-documented designs.

The role offers a 4-day week, up to €85,000 DOE, 22 days annual leave, and flexible working hours.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Building Services engineering.
• Strong electrical building services design experience.
• Proven experience managing electrical design packages independently.
• AutoCAD experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design and delivery across multiple projects.
• Design LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and fire alarm systems.
• Produce calculations, specifications, drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, architectural and structural disciplines.
• Manage projects through different stages of design and construction.
• Attend client and design team meetings and provide technical input.
• Review contractor drawings and technical submissions.
• Carry out site inspections and review installations against the electrical design.
• Support commissioning, snagging and project handover.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers where required.

The Company

This Irish M&E engineering consultancy delivers building services design across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, office fit out and education projects.

With approximately 20 live projects across Dublin and the wider region, they are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen the electrical team.

The Role: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

As Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for electrical building services design across multiple projects from initial concept and design development through construction and handover.

You will manage your own electrical design packages, coordinate with other disciplines and deal directly with clients, architects and contractors throughout project delivery.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have strong electrical building services design experience.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline required.
• Proven experience independently managing electrical design packages from concept through completion.
• AutoCAD experience required.

Preferred Experience

• Previous M&E consultancy experience strongly preferred.
• Residential, commercial, office fit out or education project experience beneficial.
• Revit experience advantageous.

About You

You will be an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong building services background and the ability to manage projects with limited supervision.

You should be technically confident, organised and comfortable dealing directly with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
