Job summary

Manpower Ireland is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Kilkenny to lead electrical and instrumentation design for large water and wastewater projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality infrastructure solutions across Ireland.

You will design distribution systems, control panels, and automation solutions, engage with clients and external bodies, and mentor junior engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 7 or higher).
• 10+ years' experience in Electrical Design Engineering.
• Water/Wastewater industry experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce Electrical and Instrumentation designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants.
• Liaise with ESB and other external stakeholders.
• Design electrical distribution systems, control panels, instrumentation, and general services.
• Prepare technical designs, procurement specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Develop automation hardware and network architecture solutions.
• Prepare cable, IO, and power schedules.
• Review and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single line diagrams.
• Support FAT testing and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, Automation and Civil teams.
• Ensure compliance with Irish Standards, IEC standards, and Water Industry specs.
• Provide technical leadership to junior engineers.
