Job summary

Jacobs Ireland is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead drainage and water management projects across Ireland. You will drive technical excellence, deliver robust designs and support flood risk management, while mentoring junior engineers.

You’ll join a Civil Infrastructure team focused on resilient infrastructure and sustainable drainage solutions, working in a collaborative hybrid model with opportunities across transportation and urban development schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience delivering drainage infrastructure in transportation/highways.
• Strong knowledge of drainage design standards, SuDS and flood risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver highway, rail, urban and development drainage schemes.
• Undertake drainage assessments, feasibility studies and optioneering.
• Deliver detailed drainage designs to Irish/UK/international standards.
• Produce and review hydraulic modelling, calculations and design reports.
• Design SuDS and nature-based solutions.
• Support flood risk assessments and surface water management strategies.
• Provide technical oversight and QA for project deliverables.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers.
