Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group in Ireland is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead and deliver drainage and water management projects across transportation and urban development. You will apply sound engineering judgement and mentor junior engineers while delivering designs that meet Irish, UK and international standards.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng/MIEI/ICE) or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience delivering drainage infrastructure within transport sectors.
• Strong knowledge of drainage design standards, SuDS and flood risk management.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supervising deliverables.
• Proficiency in drainage modelling software such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage or Causeway Flow.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development and delivery of highway, rail, urban and development drainage schemes.
• Undertaking drainage assessments, feasibility studies and optioneering exercises.
• Delivering detailed drainage designs to Irish/UK/international standards.
• Producing and reviewing hydraulic modelling, calculations and design reports.
• Designing SuDS and nature-based solutions for infrastructure projects.
• Supporting flood risk assessments and surface water management strategies.
• Providing technical oversight and quality assurance for project deliverables.
• Collaborating with environmental, highways, structures and water specialists.
• Building client relationships and mentoring graduate and junior engineers.
