Job summary

The Role:

The Digital and Accessible Technology (DAT) team provides a range of assistive technology services across Corlann – West. The DAT Facilitator will support people to access, use and embed Assistive Technology that enhances communication, participation, independence and quality of life.

The post holder will work collaboratively with individuals, families and support staff to explore, trial, implement and sustain Assistive Technology solutions that are person-centred, rights-based and neurodiversity-affirming. They will support digital accessibility across services to improve how people with disabilities access and use digital technology.

This is a practice-focused role, centred on implementation, problem-solving and capacity-building.

Reporting To/ Responsible To:

DAT Officer and Speech and Language Therapy Manager.

• People supported and their circle of support
• Corlann - West Multi-disciplinary staff

• Educational, Health, Vocational and Community Agencies

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

• Candidates should have at least QQI Level 7 qualification relevant to the Social Care sector.
• A minimum of 2 years experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience supporting people to develop skills, independence, and participation in everyday activities, employment, education, or community settings.
• Demonstrated ability to provide practical guidance, coaching, and support to individuals with different learning and communication styles.
• Experience organising, coordinating, or managing administrative tasks and processes.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Experience delivering training, demonstrations, or workshops.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with individuals, families, frontline staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Interest in Assistive Technology and digital inclusion.
• Knowledge of assistive technology, digital accessibility, or related areas.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for completing tasks.
• Ability to be flexible and responsive to the needs of the service.
• Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
• A full clean Irish driving licence and the use of one's own car is essential.

Highly Desirable:

• Experience supporting people in a workplace, training, employment, or vocational setting.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, or supporting colleagues, volunteers, students, or people supported.
• Experience with stock control, inventory management, audits, or library administration.
• Experience using Assistive Technology in practice.
• QQI Level 5 Intellectual Disability Practice.

Working Hours:

39 hours per week based on a 5 day Monday to Friday basis. Contracted hours of work are liable to change between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. over 7 days as future service needs require. Flexibility may be required in order to meet Service demands.

The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

The Health Service is undergoing ongoing transformation and therefore it is critical that a flexible attitude to changing environments and work requirements is held by the successful candidate.

The annual leave attached to this post is 23 days per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

Remuneration Salary Scale:

Department of Health Workshop Supervisor/Instructor, Senior salary scale (01/06/2026) - € 41,431 x 8 increments - € 52,317 (max) per annum pro rata.

LSI 1 € 54,011 per annum pro rata is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale. LSI 2 € 55,805 per annum pro rata is payable after a further 3 years.

The post is temporary, full-time and pensionable linked on a specific purpose basis to new funding.

It is also proposed to set up a locum panel who will be called if and when required to cover for staff on various leave within the Services.

Travel/Base:

The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from Insurers in favour of the employer. Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty. The position will be based within the West Region. The base for this purpose will be Roscommon town.

A probationary period from the date of appointment applies to the posts. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
