Position: Senior Design Engineer – REF: 2621 (Cork, with consideration for Dublin, Galway, and Portlaoise).
Responsibilities
- Design and manage projects from conceptual phase through to completion in energy and utilities sectors, covering building services/energy upgrades, renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines, and installations (gas, oil, water, wastewater).
- Develop industrial and building services utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
- Lead energy retrofit upgrades of buildings and building fabric.
- Create preliminary and detailed design calculations.
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and design reports at conceptual, preliminary, and detailed stages.
- Balance of plant design.
- Design and implement energy saving projects.
- Participate in HAZID/HAZOP and LOPA studies.
- Carry out PSDP role.
Qualifications
- Mechanical engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s or higher) or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years post‑graduate relevant design experience; CEng is beneficial but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.
- Strong academic record.
- Full clean driving licence and own transport.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Location
The role is based in our Cork office but applicants from Dublin, Galway, and Portlaoise will also be considered.
