Fingleton White is recruiting a Project Design Engineer to join our Energy, Utilities and Renewables design team in Galway. The role offers senior support and opportunities to lead high value projects as your career progresses.

You will work on design coordination from conceptual phase to project completion across renewables, gas, water and industrial utilities. The successful candidate should have a mechanical/process engineering degree, 5+ years of design experience, and a valid driving

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Honours) in Mechanical or Process engineering.
  • 5+ years post-graduate design experience.
  • CEng beneficial but not essential.
  • Full clean driving license and own transport.
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Design & project coordination from conceptual phase through to project completion in energy and utilities sectors (renewables, pipelines, installations).
  • Develop preliminary and detailed design calculations and drawings.
  • Create design reports and balance of plant concepts.
  • Support energy saving projects and industrial utilities design (HVAC, steam, compressed air).
  • Attend HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies; perform PSDP/CDM roles.

The Role….

Project Design Engineer – REF: 2518


We are looking to recruit a Project Design Engineer to join our Energy, Utilities and Renewables design team. The successful candidate will join an established team with senior support and will have the opportunity as their career progresses to lead high value and high complexity projects.



  • Design & project coordination from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors in areas such as renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines and installations (gas, oil, water, or wastewater).

  • Development of preliminary and detailed design calculations.

  • Development of design drawings and specifications.

  • Development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reports.

  • Balance of plant design.

  • Design and implementation of energy saving projects.

  • Industrial utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems.

  • Attend and participate in HAZID/ HAZOP and LOPA studies

  • Carry out PSDP/ CDM role


The Project Design Engineer will have the opportunity to progress their career within Fingleton White to be involved in the various business sectors to provide experience across a wide range of projects.


The location for this role will be in our Galway office.


The Candidate….


  • Engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher) in Mechanical, Process, or a similar discipline relevant to the specification above.

  • 5+ years post-graduate and relevant design experience. CEng would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Good academic record

  • Full clean driving license and own transport required

  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
