Position

The Senior Design Engineer will join our Energy, Utilities and Renewables design team, working client-facing. Responsibilities include:

• Design & project management from conceptual phase through to project completion in the Energy and Utilities sectors, covering building services/energy upgrades, renewables (biogas, biomass, CHP, solar, hydro, industrial utilities), pipelines, and installations (gas, oil, water, wastewater).
• Industrial and building services utilities design, HVAC, steam, refrigeration & compressed air systems.
• Energy retrofit upgrades of buildings and building fabric.
• Development of preliminary and detailed design calculations.
• Development of design drawings and specifications.
• Development of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design reports.
• Balance of plant design.
• Design and implementation of energy saving projects.
• Attend and participate in HAZID/HAZOP and LOPA studies.
• Carry out PSDP role.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Mechanical engineering degree (Honours bachelor’s degree or higher) or a related discipline.
• 7+ years post‑graduate and relevant design experience; CEng beneficial but not essential.
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Good academic record.
• Full clean driving licence and own transport required.
• Fluent written and spoken English essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
