Job summary

PFH Technology Group in Dublin seeks a Senior Database Consultant to guide a major transformation programme. You will combine strategic consultancy with hands-on database delivery, leading senior initiatives from design through to delivery.

You will work with architects, developers and MSP partners to modernise legacy platforms, deliver high-value changes and ensure governance, security and compliance across multi-tier enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Senior-level database experience with leadership in large programmes.
• Experience delivering transformation from design to delivery.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise database technologies and platforms.
• Experience in security/compliance aspects of transformation (NIS2) and working with MSPs.

Are you a senior database professional with a track record of leading complex transformation programmes?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Consultant to join a major transformation programme based in Dublin. This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic consultancy skills with strong hands‑on database expertise and enjoys leading high-value initiatives from design through to delivery.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in a portfolio of enterprise transformation projects, helping modernise legacy platforms and drive business‑critical technology change. Working closely with architects, developers, stakeholders and multiple MSP partners, you will provide both technical leadership and hands‑on delivery expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead database transformation and modernisation projects.
• Drive migration from legacy technologies to modern platforms.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Design, implement and optimise enterprise database solutions.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, architects, developers and third‑party service providers.
• Support governance, delivery, performance and best practice standards.
• Contribute to security and compliance‑related transformation initiatives, including NIS2 programmes where applicable.
• Mentor technical teams and provide strategic guidance.
• Extensive experience working as a Senior Database Consultant, Database Architect or Senior Database Engineer.
• Strong MariaDB experience.
• Proven experience delivering large‑scale transformation and modernisation programmes.
• Experience working within complex multi‑tier enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
• Ability to combine consultancy with hands‑on technical delivery.
• Strong project delivery track record.
• NIS2‑related transformation experience.
• Experience working across multiple managed service providers (MSPs).
