Job summary

Flogas Ireland seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own the data modelling and transformation layer, turning raw data into trusted datasets for analytics. You will define reusable logic and mentor the team, focusing on modelling, semantic design, and data quality over ingestion.

You will shape the semantic layer for Power BI, enforce standards, and work across the Medallion Architecture to deliver clean, documented data assets. Collaboration with BI and data teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Data/Analytics Engineer with strong modelling focus.
• Deep understanding of dimensional modelling and semantic design.
• Experience with Medallion/lakehouse architectures.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on dbt experience.
• Experience with cloud data platforms like Microsoft Fabric/Azure Synapse/Snowflake/Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Own semantic layer for Power BI reporting and metric definitions.
• Set data quality, testing, and documentation standards.
• Design and maintain complex models across Medallion Architecture.
• Mentor engineers and set technical standards.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and BI Developers on trusted datasets.
