BI Developer: Power BI, Fabric & Data Modeling

Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland is seeking an experienced BI Developer to design, develop and maintain enterprise BI solutions. You will work with stakeholders to deliver Power BI dashboards and semantic models using DAX, SQL and Microsoft Fabric in an Azure-based environment.

Key focus areas include data modelling, performance tuning, security (RLS) and collaboration with data engineers and analysts to drive trusted reporting across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial BI development experience across BI environments.
• Strong data modelling skills for BI and reporting.
• Hands-on DAX development including measures and calculations.
• Advanced SQL development for querying and transforming data.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data tools is highly beneficial.
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, deployment and security.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions with visuals and KPIs.
• Develop robust semantic and dimensional data models for BI solutions.
• Create efficient DAX measures and business logic with maintainability in mind.
• Use SQL to query, transform and optimise reporting datasets.
• Improve performance of models, queries and visuals.
• Manage workspaces and deployments within Power BI Service and Fabric.
• Work with Dataflows and Data Pipelines to move and prepare data for BI.
• Implement security controls including Row-Level Security.
• Produce technical documentation and support testing, QA and UAT.
• Collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality BI solutions.
• Promote best practices in BI development and data governance.
