Job summary

Amazon Data Services Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking a Senior Data Centre Design Manager to lead designs for AWS Data Centres in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region, partnering with Architects, Engineers and Designers to deliver high uptime, security and cost efficiency.

As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you will shape design execution, coordinate with finance for funding, and work with internal customers to meet project scope and timelines across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate conceptual designs and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Create and track metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design and coordinate with construction/commissioning teams.
• Collaborate with AWS engineering leads to schedule resources and influence design changes based on internal needs.
• Manage external design consultants through the design and construction process and coordinate with internal/external mechanical, electrical, controls, and cabling engineers.
• Travel for site assessments and design reviews; anticipated travel up to 25%.
• Engage and manage permitting and design consultants; complete after-action reviews and identify process improvements.
