Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural designs for AWS data centres in the EMEA region. You will guide the design team and external consultants, ensuring robust, cost-effective solutions that meet local regulations and AWS standards.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and designers to drive prototypical DC facilities from concept through construction, delivering reliable and scalable infrastructure for AWS customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, oil and gas) preferred.
• Ability to review, interpret and produce construction drawings, specifications and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Develop & maintain structural Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications.
• Lead structural design on Data Centre projects and coordinate with internal customers to establish scope, schedule and deliverables.
• Manage external design consultants through the design and construction process to ensure high-quality deliverables on schedule.
• Create and track metrics related to cost, quality and duration of design.
• Collect data from operations, construction and commissioning teams as designs are implemented.
