Job summary

Astreya is hiring a Data Center Technician III in Ireland to be a senior contributor responsible for reliable operation of data center infrastructure. You will perform complex installations, maintenance, and decommissioning, while guiding peers and driving process improvements.

In this role you will document work, support monthly client reviews, and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and security policies. Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma with 5–8 years of data center or technical infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on data center hardware installations, moves, decommissions, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
• Advanced knowledge of structured cabling (CAT5e/CAT6) copper and fiber with correct termination, routing and testing.
• Understanding of data center components: servers, storage, networking gear, racks, power distribution, cabling topologies.
• Knowledge of cable management, fault tolerance, airflow, and power usage considerations.
• Experience using copper and fiber testing tools and interpreting results for troubleshooting.
• Ability to document work, maintain records, and contribute to audits and reporting.
• Proven ability to mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, and decommission hardware including cabinets, racks, cables, servers, and devices in the data center.
• Label and verify devices, racks, and cables for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Use ticketing systems to communicate with customers clearly and timely.
• Maintain thorough documentation, diagrams, and logs for audit readiness.
• Support monthly operational reviews with clients, providing data and insights on work done and incidents.
• Follow SOPs, safety, and security policies while meeting quality and productivity targets.
• Provide day-to-day support to junior technicians and act as a technical escalation point.
• Lead by example in safety, quality, and teamwork while promoting best practices.
