Job summary

highr is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and contract management on Construction/Civil Engineering projects in Ireland. You will prepare budgets, analyse designs, and drive value through procurement and risk management.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in a related field, bring 10+ years of QS experience, and demonstrate strong negotiation and attention to detail to deliver accurate estimates and compliant contracts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a Quantity Surveying role working on Construction/Civil Engineering projects.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and legal frameworks.
• Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable contract terms and resolve disputes.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads, and establish budgets.
• Develop, manage, and review contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate terms with clients and contractors.
• Identify and procure suppliers, ensuring that materials and services are obtained at competitive prices.
• Analyse project designs and processes to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Monitor project costs and budgets, providing regular reports to stakeholders on financial performance.
• Assess and manage financial risks associated with projects, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
