Job summary

Search Talent is partnering with a leading specialist contractor in Ireland to recruit a commercially-minded Quantity Surveyor. You will join a collaborative team, take ownership of packages, and contribute to the commercial success of major projects across Ireland, including high-profile façades and building envelope works.

You will manage costs, prepare budgets and reports, procure subcontractors, and handle variations and claims while building strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Around 3–5 years' commercial experience within construction or engineering.
• Strong understanding of contracts and commercial processes.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Self‑motivated with a proactive approach and excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from commencement through to final account.
• Preparing budgets, cost plans and financial reports.
• Procuring subcontractors and managing commercial agreements.
• Assessing variations, valuations and contractor claims.
• Monitoring project performance and identifying commercial opportunities.
• Working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams.
• Supporting successful project delivery while maintaining strong commercial control.
