Job summary

GEDON™ | Precision Search for Complex Construction in Cork is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join its specialist interior projects team. You will take commercial ownership on live interior packages, from tender through to final account, interfacing with main contractors and clients in regulated environments.

We require a degree in Quantity Surveying, 5+ years in construction, and experience with cost control, contract administration and value reconciliation.

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry, on the contractor side.
• Experience within commercial fit-out or interiors is preferred – candidates from a general building background will also be considered.
• Exposure to controlled, regulated or mission-critical environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Sound knowledge of contract administration, cost control and final account settlement.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• MSCSI / MRICS chartership, or working towards it, is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial lead responsibility across a portfolio of specialist fit-out projects, from tender and pre-contract through to final account
• Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets, forecasts and cost-value reconciliations (CVRs)
• Lead the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis, negotiation and award
• Manage variations, change control and valuations, ensuring entitlement is captured and recovered
• Administer contracts and subcontracts under standard and bespoke forms (including NEC and FIDIC), managing commercial risk throughout
• Build strong working relationships with main contractors, client representatives and internal project teams
• Report on project and business-level commercial performance to senior leadership
• Support and develop junior surveyors as the commercial team grows
