Job summary

Toast is hiring an Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own platform architecture and implement landing zones, network and security for new AWS regions. You will build IaC modules, automate cloud infrastructure and promote best practices in a hybrid work environment.

With 6+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure, you will shape tooling, drive CI/CD, and mentor teams, while emphasizing testing and scalable cloud design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in software engineering, specialising in DevOps/Infrastructure/Platform engineering.
• Hands on experience with writing Terraform Providers is a MUST.
• Experience with at least one public cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks and SDKs (Terraform, Ansible modules & plugins).
• Experience maintaining large-scale production and nonproduction infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Work within a Scrum team to create, document and support infrastructure as code modules.
• Create, document and support tools/services to support CI/CD of highly available infrastructure across environments.
• Foster a culture of quality while enabling developer velocity with DevOps practices.
• Create tools to migrate infrastructure from monorepos to service repos for use with IDP.
• Contribute to unit tests for internal tooling and IaC.
• Lead by example with code standards and design across the team’s products.
• Mentor developers on IaC tooling and support systems using DevOps methodologies.
