Excel Recruitment is assisting a busy Cardiology Department in Mullingar to recruit a Senior Cardiac Physiologist for a 1-year maternity leave contract. The role is full-time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday, with an immediate start.

You will deliver a high-quality, patient-centred non-invasive cardiac diagnostics service, focusing on echocardiography, device follow-up and rhythm monitoring, with investigations performed and reported per department protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' full-time experience in cardiac physiology.
• Ability to perform, interpret and report echocardiograms independently.
• Competent in pacemaker checks and reporting.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• BSc or MSc in Clinical Measurement Physiology; MPPM certificate.

Responsabilités

• Independently perform, interpret and report transthoracic echocardiography (TTE).
• Perform and report resting 12-lead ECGs.
• Perform exercise stress testing / treadmill testing.
• Fit, analyse and report ambulatory ECG (Holter) monitoring.
• Fit, analyse and report ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM).
• Monitor cardiac event recorder and external loop recorder.
• Follow up with implantable loop recorder (ILR) where needed.
• Highlight abnormal/urgent findings to the medical team.
• Vet and prioritise referrals for non-invasive tests.
• Support service planning, audits and performance improvement.
