Job summary

UPMC Ireland's UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford is seeking a Senior Cardiac Physiologist to lead non-invasive testing and invasive procedures in the Cardiology Department. The role covers the Cardiac Catheterisation laboratory and associated services, with 35 hours per week and a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will perform resting ECG, treadmill tests, Echocardiography, pacemaker follow-ups, and catheterisation work, and participate in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Hold a BSc in Clinical Measurement or equivalent recognised by IICMS.
• Hold MPPM or equivalent qualification confirmed by IICMS.
• Possess an equivalent Level 8 Scientific qualification confirmed by IICMS.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification relevant experience.
• Experience in ECG, Echocardiography, Cardiac Cath Lab and Rhythm management.

Responsibilities

• Perform resting ECG and exercise treadmill testing.
• Analyze ambulatory ECG and BP recordings.
• Pacemaker/ICD/CRT follow-up and reporting.
• Perform transthoracic echocardiography and report findings.
• Assist with transoesophageal echocardiography and interventional procedures.
• Contribute to diagnostics in Cath Lab and EP studies.
