Job summary

UPMC Aut Even Hospital in Kilkenny seeks a Cardiac Physiologist on a permanent basis. The role covers ECGs, stress tests, Holter monitoring, pacemaker/ICD follow-up, echocardiography, and cath/EP procedures.

You will be responsible for accurate reporting, documentation, and maintaining records within Q-Pulse, while supporting department leadership and training of staff.

Qualifications

• ASCT is required.
• Diploma in medical physics and physiological measurement from a college of technology or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience at Basic Grade Cardiac Technician level.
• Experience in echocardiography and/or cardiac catheterisation.
• Good interpersonal skills with patient-centered approach.
• Ability to plan and organize effectively.
• Team collaboration in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Commitment to quality service and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate and interpret ECGs, stress tests, Holter and other monitors.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation.
• Assist in day-to-day cardiology department operations.
• Supervise junior staff and participate in training.
• Develop and implement cardiology policies and guidelines.
• Stay current with cardiology developments and safety standards.
• Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance.
• Support initiatives to improve service delivery.
