Job summary

The K Club is seeking a Senior Bar Person for The Straffan Inn Pub to join our hospitality team on site in County Kildare, Ireland. You will support the Bar Manager, maintain clean, well-presented bar areas, and ensure smooth service with accurate cash handling and guest billing.

You will develop strong knowledge of beverages, draught beer systems and licensing compliance while delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to profitability through great stock control and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in bar operations and beverage service.
• Ability to manage stock using FIFO and minimise waste.
• Knowledge of licensing legislation and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Support the Bar Manager in day-to-day operation and ensure smooth service.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across all bar areas and equipment.
• Monitor stock deliveries, check expiry dates and rotate stock.
• Ensure bar is fully stocked and prepared for service each evening.
• Prepare and replenish stock requisitions and manage private bars/events.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Bar Personto join The Straffan Inn Pub, part of The K Club family.

• To ensure that areas of responsibility are clean and well maintained
• Adheres to the Pub's health and safety procedures
• To meet and greet customers in a courteous and professional manner
• To ensure all customer requirements are met and to maintain the standards of beverage service
• To promote a positive working atmosphere at all times
• To assist the Pub Manager in managing the team, assisting with appraisals, stock control etc.

The Candidate

• Support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring a smooth and efficient service in their absence.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation across all bar areas, equipment, glassware and storage spaces.
• Manage stock effectively, following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to minimise waste and ensure product quality.
• Monitor stock deliveries, checking expiry dates and ensuring products are stored and rotated correctly, including kegs.
• Ensure the bar is fully stocked, organised and ready for service at all times.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain immaculate presentation of glassware, bar equipment and display areas, ensuring products are attractively merchandised.
• Prepare and replenish stock requisitions while monitoring inventory levels.
• Set up, service and dismantle private bars and event spaces to the highest standard, ensuring all guest charges are processed accurately.
• Ensure all bar and public areas are fully prepared for service each evening.
• Prepare cocktails and beverages consistently to company recipes and quality standards.
• Process customer orders and bills accurately.
• Complete end-of-day cashing up and banking procedures, ensuring all documentation is submitted correctly.
• Develop a strong understanding of beverage products, draught beer systems and bar operations.
• Ensure all drinks are served using the correct legal measures and support compliance across the team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing legislation and company policies.
• Support the training and development of team members alongside the Bar Manager.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by sharing knowledge of beverages and local attractions, helping guests enjoy an exceptional experience.
• Promote excellent stock control, minimise waste and contribute to the profitability of the department.
