Job summary

Amach is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. You will design and build scalable, event-driven backend systems on AWS, shaping architecture and engineering best practices across the platform.

This hands-on role focuses on Python microservices, API design, IaC, and improving performance, observability and cost efficiency, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across the business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong AWS experience with Lambda/serverless.
• Experience with IaC (CDK or Terraform).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and microservices.
• Experience with DynamoDB, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• CI/CD and observability with Datadog desirable.
• Excellent communication and fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable Python microservices on AWS.
• Develop event-driven architectures using EventBridge, SQS and SNS.
• Design APIs, data models and cloud infrastructure.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Improve system performance, scalability, observability and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers across the business and mentor junior team members.
