Job summary

Amach, a Dublin-headquartered technology company with remote teams in the UK and Europe, seeks a senior AWS architect to lead major cloud engagements from assessment to live operation. You will define technical direction, drive large-scale migrations, and ensure secure, scalable designs across compute, data, networking and security.

The role requires deep AWS expertise, hands-on infra-as-code, containers, CI/CD, and the ability to articulate complex designs to C-suite and delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Deep, current AWS expertise across multiple domains, evidenced by certification, delivery history, or both.
• Track record of architecting and landing large-scale cloud migrations or platform builds.
• Fluency in infrastructure as code, containers and modern CI/CD.
• Strong security and networking judgment in regulated or high-availability environments.
• Ability to explain complex design to CTOs and delivery teams.
• Comfort being the most senior technical voice in a client room.
• AWS Golden Jacket, or a live run at it; aviation or travel experience.
• AWS Ambassador, Community Builder, Hero, or public speaking/writing history.
• Azure or multi-cloud exposure alongside AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture for major AWS engagements from assessment to live running.
• Set technical direction clients trust, defending it when needed.
• Lead migration and modernization programs across compute, data, networking, and security.
• Build cost into design from day one; establish FinOps habits.
• Mentor engineers and architects across the practice.
• Collaborate with sales and delivery leads to shape proposals you would deliver.

• Own the architecture for major AWS engagements, from first assessment through to live running

• Lead migration and modernization programs across compute, data, networking, and security
• Build cost into the design from day one, so FinOps is a habit rather than a rescue mission
• Mentor engineers and architects across the practice and raise the standard of what "good" looks like here
• Work with sales and delivery leads to shape proposals you would be happy to deliver yourself

Required Experience:

• Deep, current AWS expertise across multiple domains, evidenced by certification, delivery history, or both
• A track record of architecting and landing large-scale cloud migrations or platform builds
• Fluency in infrastructure as code, containers and modern CI/CD
• Strong security and networking judgment in regulated or high-availability environments
• The ability to explain a complex design to a CTO and to a delivery team in the same afternoon
• Comfort being the most senior technical voice in a client room
• AWS Golden Jacket, or a live run at it
• Aviation or travel experience
• AWS Ambassador, Community Builder, Hero, or a record of speaking and writing in public
• Azure or multi-cloud exposure alongside AWS
