Job summary

embecta, a global medical device company, seeks a Senior Automation Engineer for its high‑volume, fully automated manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and drive continuous improvement of production processes and equipment.

You will manage automation projects plant-wide, support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives, lead cross-functional teams, and collaborate with Validation, Quality and Engineering to ensure robust, safe operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in equipment automation or related field.
• Proficient with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation products and coding.
• Experience with Cognex vision systems and industrial networks.
• SCADA/HMI systems experience including Allen Bradley / Schneider.
• Knowledge of SQL Server and basic OO programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage automation projects plant-wide and liaise with vendors for new equipment.
• Support continuous improvement using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor equipment performance and root-cause issues.
• Provide frontline technical leadership to Engineering, Operations, Validation, Development & Quality.
• Support plant-wide automation change control and software revision control.
• Assist Validation with new process validation and equipment upgrades.
• Ensure risk assessments and safety actions; participate in budgeting.
• Assist in training and development of Engineering Technicians.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
