Job summary

Partner company in Ireland seeks a Staff Application Security Engineer to establish and scale a dedicated security function. You will design secure SDLC, lead threat modeling, and drive vulnerability remediation across APIs, SDKs, and cloud systems, with hands-on coding and automation across CI/CD pipelines.

You will integrate AI-assisted testing, build secure defaults, and provide security guidance to engineering teams while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in software engineering and/or security engineering, including 5+ years in application security.

Responsibilities

• Design secure SDLC and threat modeling integrated into engineering workflows.
• Own and improve application security tooling (SAST/DAST, SCA, secret scanning).
• Integrate security tools into CI/CD pipelines and define remediation SLAs.
• Develop AI-first security engineering approach with evidence-based controls.
• Lead threat modeling and architecture security reviews for new products and features.
• Manage vulnerability identification, risk assessment, and remediation across scanners, pentests, bug bounties and disclosures.
• Conduct hands-on security testing including code reviews and exploitation testing.
• Collaborate with security leadership to set priorities and create a security roadmap.
• Provide technical evidence for security controls and support enterprise customer due diligence.
