Job summary

Tyndall National Institute in Ireland is seeking a Senior ALD Process Engineer to lead the development and optimization of ALD processes for next‑gen semiconductor devices. You will work in the NanoIC programme, translating materials concepts into robust deposition workflows and enabling integration with CMOS‑class architectures.

The role requires expertise in ALD process development, scrutiny of film properties, and collaboration with device engineers, metrology specialists and equipment

Qualifications

• MSc degree in a relevant science/engineering field.
• Typically five years’ hands‑on ALD experience in a cleanroom or R&D setting.
• Proven ALD process development experience including precursor chemistry and growth mechanisms.
• Experience with thin‑film metrology and device interfaces (FET/MOSFET).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of ALD processes with defined windows and controls.
• Lead daily operation and maintenance of ALD tools in a lab environment.
• Assist installation, qualification and transfer of new ALD equipment.
• Develop and qualify ALD processes for TMDs, oxide semiconductors and high‑k dielectrics.
• Design and analyze DoEs to identify key parameters and windows.
• Support integration of ALD into wider fabrication flows and process transfer.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and researchers.
