Location: Dublin, Ireland (Hybrid)
Level: Senior / Lead (L6)
Employment Type: Permanent
Visa : Must hold Stamp 4 or EU Citizen for this role and be located in Ireland
About the Role
We are seeking an autonomous, code-first Senior AI Solutions Engineer (Level 6) to join our AI Platform Engineering Center of Excellence in Dublin.
In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and end-to-end delivery of high-impact, semi-greenfield AI solutions built directly for quantitative research and portfolio management stakeholders. You will operate with high autonomy, cutting through ambiguity to translate complex investment workflows into production-grade, low-latency AI platforms.
This is a hands-on, systems-engineering individual contributor seat-not prompt-wrapping or AI administration. We are looking for an experienced software architect who combines deep backend systems craftsmanship, native cloud infrastructure, and modern retrieval/agentic architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Production AI Systems Architecture: Architect, implement, and deploy production-grade AI platforms, intelligent agents, and custom retrieval architectures (RAG, hybrid search, semantic caching, and re-ranking pipelines).
- End-to-End Delivery: Take full SDLC ownership of high-value initiatives from technical design and data modeling through to low-latency microservices, automated testing, and cloud deployment.
- Autonomous Stakeholder Partnership: Partner directly with senior quantitative leads, portfolio managers, and technical architects to define system contracts, challenge assumptions, and deliver resilient software solutions.
- Engineering Rigor & Guardrails: Establish architectural standards, deterministic evaluation pipelines, and security guardrails to ensure model outputs are secure, auditable, and reliable in an enterprise financial setting.
- Technical Mentorship: Drive engineering best practices across the squad, conducting rigorous design reviews and coaching team members on modern AI systems architecture.
Core Technical Requirements (What We Look For)
- Systems & Backend Engineering: 6+ years of commercial software engineering experience, with deep, idiomatic proficiency in Python (FastAPI, asyncio, distributed systems) building scalable microservices.
- Cloud-Native Architecture (AWS): Proven experience architecting and operating production workloads natively on AWS (e.g., ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, IAM).
- Advanced GenAI & Retrieval Engineering: Hands-on commercial experience designing production RAG systems, vector retrieval pipelines (e.g., OpenSearch, Qdrant, Pinecone, pgvector), chunking strategies, embeddings, and agentic orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or custom graph workflows).
- Data & API Craftsmanship: Strong background in database schema design (relational and document stores), caching layers (Redis), and secure REST/streaming (WebSocket/SSE) API contracts.
- Production Quality & DevOps: Solid track record in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK), automated testing suites (unit, integration, and evaluation benchmarks), and CI/CD pipelines.
Desirable / Useful Experience
- Experience working with enterprise LLM orchestration services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, LiteLLM).
- Implementation of emerging protocols such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) or multi-agent collaboration patterns.
- Exposure to financial services, trading platforms, or quantitative data workflows.
- Familiarity with modern reactive frontends (TypeScript/React) for building full-stack stakeholder tooling.
What We Offer
- Base Salary: €90,000 - €100,000 (dependent on depth of architectural experience).
- Comprehensive Benefits: Tier-1 pension scheme, full private health insurance, and annual bonus.
- Modern Hybrid Environment: 3 days/week onsite in Dublin (transitioning to our flagship city-centre facility this November).
