Job summary

Toast is seeking a senior engineer to lead backend and full-stack work on AI agentic solutions that power marketing and demand generation. You will own architecture, write code, and mentor a team of engineers in a hybrid Dublin setting.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to drive scalable systems, integrate with frontend services, and ship features end-to-end while championing quality and innovation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend/full-stack experience delivering impact.
• Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications.
• Interest in agentic development, LLM integration, and modern software paradigms.
• Comfort with ambiguity, agile delivery, and incremental shipping.
• Passion for making users happy through your product.
• Strong fundamentals: code quality, tests, clean code; open to AI tooling.
• Excellent collaboration and communication with engineers, product, and business.
• Growth mindset and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable AI agent infrastructure for Marketing and Demand Generation.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders to align on architecture.
• Maintain hands-on coding and prototype new patterns to resolve bottlenecks.
• Mentor engineers and elevate the team through design reviews and feedback.
• Ship features end-to-end from design to rollout and monitor success.
• Foster collaboration and culture of innovation across Toast teams.
