Job summary

Toast is seeking a Senior Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable backend and frontend components for our hospitality platform in a hybrid Dublin team. You will work with Java/Kotlin, React, and AI-enhanced tooling to ship features end-to-end with high code quality.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and Design, and help raise architectural standards to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that help restaurants grow and operate more efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend/full-stack experience.
• Experience with Java/Kotlin and React.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development and LLM-based workflows.
• Proven ability to ship features iteratively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable solutions for restaurant operations.
• Ship features end-to-end and iterate based on usage.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and lead design reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering stakeholders.
