Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (MCP & RAG) to drive AI-powered solutions across the technology modernization program.

You will design and deploy scalable, production-grade systems leveraging LLMs, vector search, and knowledge bases within secure cloud environments. Responsibilities include building APIs and microservices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related discipline.
• 5–10 years of software engineering experience with strong focus on AI/ML and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python; experience building scalable backend systems.
• Experience with Angular or similar frontend frameworks for building user-facing AI applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain) and building RAG-based systems.
• Expertise in knowledge bases with vector search and embedding models.
• Strong cloud experience, particularly AWS, with familiarity of Cloudera and Databricks ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver AI-powered solutions leveraging modern architectures, including LLM-based systems and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Build and maintain enterprise knowledge bases with vector search capabilities for semantic search and intelligent retrieval.
• Develop LLM-driven applications using LangChain, including prompt engineering and orchestration patterns.
• Implement solutions using MCP or equivalent model interaction frameworks; ensure scalable, secure cloud/data architectures.
