Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Senior Software Engineer focused on AI-powered solutions, LLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation. You will design scalable, production-ready systems with knowledge bases and vector search, using LangChain and MCP to orchestrate model interactions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain APIs, and ensure security and governance across cloud and data platforms, including AWS, Cloudera, and Databricks.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of software engineering experience with focus on AI/ML and distributed systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field.
• Strong Python proficiency for scalable backend systems.
• Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular or similar).
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain) and RAG systems.
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding models.
• Cloud platforms, especially AWS; familiarity with Cloudera and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver AI-powered solutions using LLMs and RAG.
• Build and maintain enterprise knowledge bases with vector search.
• Develop LLM-driven apps using LangChain and orchestration patterns.
• Implement and integrate MCP or equivalent model interaction frameworks.
• Architect secure solutions across cloud/data ecosystems (AWS, Cloudera, Databricks).
• Collaborate with product/engineering/data teams to translate needs into AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and microservices for AI apps and front-end integrations.
• Ensure data governance, security, and operational excellence standards.
• Monitor and optimize model performance in production.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
