Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable AI-powered solutions using LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector-based knowledge bases.

You will build production-grade APIs and microservices, mentor teammates, and ensure security and governance across cloud platforms. The role focuses on MCP-based model interactions, LangChain Framework usage, and delivering intelligent AI capabilities that enhance Mastercard's digital experiences and regulatory

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of software engineering experience with a strong AI/ML and distributed systems focus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or related field.
• Strong Python proficiency for building scalable backend systems.
• Experience with Angular or similar frontend frameworks for AI applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain) and RAG-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver AI-powered solutions leveraging LLMs and RAG.
• Build and maintain enterprise knowledge bases with vector search capabilities.
• Develop LLM-driven applications using LangChain including prompts, chaining, and orchestration.
• Implement and integrate MCP or equivalent model interaction frameworks.
• Architect scalable and secure cloud/data solutions (AWS, Cloudera, Databricks).
• Collaborate with product, engineering and data teams to translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and microservices for AI applications and front-end integrations.
• Ensure governance, security, compliance and operational excellence across solutions.
• Monitor and optimize model performance, reliability and scalability in production.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
