Job summary

Lam Research in Ireland is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, repair and maintain Lam’s semiconductor equipment at customer sites. You will work onsite in Kildare and travel as needed, delivering solutions and ensuring uptime.

You’ll troubleshoot, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with customers and internal teams, staying current on equipment and product knowledge. This is a full-time hybrid role with opportunities for remote work part of the week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years’ experience; or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and operation manuals.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; cleanroom PPE required.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation/start-up services of Lam equipment at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting to isolate issues to component level and minimize downtime.
• Keep up to date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification.
• Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining records and coordinating activities with Lam and customers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to customers and delivering exceptional satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot and create customer response action plans to support customer needs.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers to increase trust.
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring for more junior engineers.
