Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited seeks a Systems Engineer for Amazon Security to raise the security bar across AWS and Amazon Retail platforms. The role involves designing, implementing, and supporting secure services and features with a focus on high availability and customer experience.

You will collaborate with EU teams to solve complex security challenges, participate in on‑call rotations, and help build scalable, secure systems that process billions of transactions daily.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.
• Experience in at least two languages: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash/Shell.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate security services for cloud and retail platforms at scale.
• Participate in 24/7 production environments and on‑call rotations.
• Develop and deploy secure by default features and improvements.
• Collaborate with global teams to improve user experience and security.
